AWARD-WINNING COMEDY MAGIC
ACT
Shawn beat 7 competitors to take 1st place at the International Brotherhood of Magicians Singapore Ring 115 Parlour Magic Competition 2006.
Performing routines from his commercial act as well as brand new material, Shawn kept the audience captivated with a perfectly timed, well polished comedy magic act that amused and amazed the 100-strong crowd.

His act featured some never before seen effects as well as some twists on old classics. To start of, Shawn attempted some amazing sleight of hand before pulling a full sized bowling pin from nowhere. Before the gasps of amazement even had a chance to subside, he followed up by producing a bowling ball to top it off!

Next up, Shawn performed an ‘egg-xciting’ trick with an egg, causing it to
first vanish then reappear before finally producing a glass bottle with the
egg trapped inside!
He then moved on to one of his pet effects the Linking Barbed Wires, a comedic take on the classic Chinese Linking Rings. Even as the razor-sharp barbs kept snagging on Shawn’s suit, he still managed to link them and ended the routine with a shower of confetti!

Shawn ended his act by getting an audience member to select a card before causing it to vanish under his nose, in front of his very eyes only to reappear inside the face of a giant clock that was in full view throughout the performance!
At the end of the
competition, it was clear to everyone in attendance whose act would take
home the top prize.
